Hi, there! I'm the founder of See Jane Write and I'm so glad you decided to stop by our blog. My name is Javacia Harris Bowser, but when I attend networking events around Birmingham people often approach me and ask, "Are you See Jane Write?" In fact, it happens so frequently, my husband says I should just start writing "C. Jane Wright" on my name tag.
But I'm not complaining. In fact, I couldn't be more grateful for how quickly the word has spread about See Jane Write.
See Jane Write launched in March of 2011 with a gathering of 14 women. We met at a local Mexican restaurant and I shared my vision for creating a writing group for women and asked what they would want from such a group.
Today I have a mailing list of over 200 women and roughly 65 women attending many of our events.
Thanks to See Jane Write, I've been featured on the popular blog Magic City Made and selected as one of the smartest women in Birmingham by the Women Fund of Greater Birmingham's SMART Party Committee.
See Jane Write is an organization for women writers in the Birmingham area. We regularly host workshops, seminars and networking events for female literary artists, bloggers and journalists.
The purpose of this blog is not only to post updates on See Jane Write news and events, but also to offer tips on writing, blogging, social media and more.
